We think drinking Diet Soda is that safe compared to drinking regular soda. We are blinded by its commercial tag of having zero calories and we think its the best way to have a soda and lose weight. Unlikely, drinking Diet Soda still have numerable side effects that may affect your health. Continue reading on why you have to stop drinking Diet soda or maybe lessen it. 



  • Drinking soda may increase your risk of heart stroke by 44 percent.
  • Even though it's calorie-free, the artificial sweeteners will make our body crave sugary calories, so drinking diet soda can actually lead to weight gain.
  • Regular drinking of Diet Soda may also be linked to increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
  • Caffeine consumption can make you jittery, worsen IBS symptoms, increase blood pressure, cause sleep issues and lead to osteoporosis.
  • Artificial sweeteners although safe in moderate consumption may cause headaches and migraines, and long term the use of acesulfame K can cause nausea and possibly cancer.
  • Diet soda has also no nutritional value, the caffeine will lead you to more dehydration. Better to drink zero-calorie team seltzerm or water to stay hydrated.
  • Kidney Damage in those who drink more than two times a day. The sweeteners in Diet Soda may scare kidney tissues overtime.
  • The sugar and acid in Diet soda can cause damage to the enamel of your teeth.The Phosporic acid in the soda causes calcium in your bloodstream to be excreted more quickly than normal through urine. Your bones then give up some of their calcium in order to keep up the calcium level constant.
